BIO/CREDENTIALS
My name is Lindsey Hennessey and I love numbers. I love business and I love being a business owner. I have always had an entrepreneurial heart and always knew that I wanted to own my own business helping others do the same.
I started my accounting journey in 2010 when I completed my degree in International Business Management, with specializations in Finance and Sustainable business from the University of Lethbridge. I brought my new education with me to one of my favorite places in the world and spent 6 years working at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. I worked there as a Capital Projects Coordinator and then Regional Purchaser. I spent my days doing a job I loved, and my evenings’ rock climbing, hiking and otherwise chasing the rest of the passions in my life. I had found happiness in balance and knew that my path was drawn for me. Whatever career I had, had to bring me joy and balance too.
I loved Accounting and wanted to broaden my resume. I was presented with my next opportunity shortly after meeting the love of my life, Derek (now husband) and went on to work as cost controller and administrative support for various oilfield projects and Burns & McDonnell Engineering company. While the experience was essential, I was still missing something. I wanted to regain my freedom of time and ability to enjoy the sports I loved.
This led me back to Canmore where I worked as Lead Bookkeeper for Baja Construction. I was now able to work from home, on my own terms. During my time there, I enrolled back into school and completed my Bookkeeping Certificate from Okanagan College.
2017 was an incredible year for us, when we became parents and I met the biggest motivation yet to pursue my dream. Our son Cedar is the light of our lives and reminds me the value of my time. We want to teach him to follow his dreams and share with him our love of nature and adventure. 2018 I decided it was time to open my own business and as a Freelance Bookkeeper. I believe it is important to never stop learning, and so I am currently pursuing my Canadian Certified Bookkeeping Designation.
